.com Wholesale Price Rises to $11.17 on November 1, 2026

Starting November 1, 2026, the wholesale price of a .com domain, the amount registrars pay to the registry operator VeriSign, goes up 7%: from $10.26 to $10.97 per year for each registration or renewal. The $0.20 ICANN fee stays the same, so the minimum cost of a .com domain for a registrar becomes $11.17 instead of the current $10.46. VeriSign announced the increase on April 23, 2026.

Retail prices at registrars are higher than this cost by their markup, and at most registrars they will also rise after November 1. Current registration, renewal, and transfer prices at ICANN-accredited registrars are listed on the .COM page.

What can be done before November 1

A renewal paid before November 1, 2026 is charged at the current price. Most registrars allow renewing a domain for up to 10 years ahead, so renewing now locks in the current price for the entire paid period. This applies only to domains that will definitely be needed in the coming years.

Next increases

This is the first increase in the new six-year cycle of the VeriSign contract, which began in October 2024. The contract allows raising the price by up to 7% three more times: in 2027, 2028, and 2029. In the previous cycle, VeriSign used all four permitted increases at the maximum rate.
