Most registrars' prices are updated every hour. You can always see the time of the last update:

These are manually verified approximately once a year.

What is ICANN and why does it matter?

ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the organization that oversees the global domain name system. Understanding the difference between registrar types is important:

  • ICANN-accredited registrars are directly authorized and monitored by ICANN. They must follow strict rules and regulations.
  • Resellers are intermediaries who sell domains through accredited registrars. ICANN has no direct oversight of their operations.

This distinction matters if you experience issues such as:

  • Difficulty transferring your domain to another registrar
  • Unauthorized locks or restrictions on your domain
  • Disputes over domain ownership or access

If your registrar is ICANN-accredited, you can file a complaint directly with ICANN at https://www.icann.org/compliance/complaint. ICANN takes domain transfer issues seriously and can require registrars to comply with regulations.

For issues with resellers, you would need to contact their upstream ICANN-accredited registrar.

How can registrars add their prices to tldes.com?

Currently only ICANN registrars can be added to tldes.com. Your prices will also appear on sites that use the tldes API.

How can registrars add their promo codes?

How do I report an incorrect price?

Prices may not match the prices on the registrar's website for the following reasons:

  • added ICANN fee
  • added payment system commissions
  • the script gets prices from the registrar API

You can report incorrect prices and expired promotional codes.
