API Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

The tldes.com API ("Service") provides programmatic access to domain pricing data from various registrars. The data is updated hourly, with the first update occurring at approximately 00:30 UTC. Available endpoints and documentation can be found at https://tldes.com/pages/api.

2. Access and API Keys

Access to the full API requires a valid API key. Each subscription provides one API key for use by the subscriber only. API keys are personal and non-transferable. Sharing, selling, or distributing your API key to third parties is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of access.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the API data for personal or commercial purposes, including:

  • Building applications that display domain pricing information
  • Creating domain price comparison websites
  • Integrating pricing data into your own services

Prohibited uses include:

  • Reselling or redistributing the raw API data to third parties
  • Providing API access as a service to others
  • Any use that violates applicable laws or regulations

4. Rate Limits

To ensure service quality for all users:

  • The /v1?data=status endpoint may be queried no more than once per minute
  • Full data endpoints should only be accessed after checking the status endpoint to confirm data has been updated
  • Excessive or abusive requests may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access

5. Payment Terms

The Service is available as a paid subscription. Current pricing information can be found at https://tldes.com/pages/api. Payment is required in advance. No refunds will be provided for unused portions of the subscription period.

6. Data Accuracy

The API provides domain pricing data "as is" without warranties of any kind. Domain prices may change rapidly and real-time accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Users acknowledge that pricing decisions should not be based solely on API data. tldes.com is not responsible for any losses resulting from pricing discrepancies.

7. Service Availability

While the Service aims for high availability, uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond control. No liability is assumed for damages resulting from service interruptions.

8. Termination

Access to the API may be terminated or suspended at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason. Subscribers may cancel at any time, with access continuing until the end of the current billing period.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, tldes.com shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from API usage.

10. Changes to Terms

These terms may be modified at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the API after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
